A few days ago, Chiquis broke down during a live show in front of thousands of people, expressing how much she missed her grandmother, Doña Rosa.

In the footage, Jenni Rivera’s daughter could be seen crying as she jokingly said that, despite her grandmother being ‘crazy,’ she missed her deeply.

The singer’s words were meant as a joke, not to offend Doña Rosa. However, the message was received differently, and not in a positive way.

Through a video on her YouTube channel, shared by the Instagram account ‘escándalo,’ Doña Rosa responded to her granddaughter.

Doña Rosa Fires Back at Chiquis

Chiquis Rivera shed tears, missing her grandmother and jokingly mentioning that she was ‘a little crazy,’ referring to the family separation.

For months now, Jenni Rivera’s children have been distant from their grandparents and uncles due to conflicts over managing their mother’s businesses.

As Christmas approaches, one might think reconciliation was near, but things took a turn with Doña Rosa’s sharp response.

Jenni Rivera’s mother felt offended by Chiquis’s words and responded harshly, saying that it was her granddaughter who was ‘crazy.’

What the Rivera Matriarch Had to Say

In a part of the video, Doña Rosa Rivera stated: «She goes around saying, ‘Oh yes, Grandma, I miss you so much… even though you’re a little crazy…’ crazy is her.»

«That’s offensive. I don’t say anything to them, but if I do speak, it’s not because I’m crazy, it’s because I’m sane… Is that why you sing? To rant against the family?» she commented.

«She said I’m crazy… and the people, the same people who come here, were laughing over there… I accept them, I give them my affection, and they’re with Chiquis laughing that I’m crazy,» she added.

So far, Chiquis has not commented on the matter, but many believe that Doña Rosa overreacted to her granddaughter’s words.
